Keeping this in mind, your best bet is to first locate your HA by going here and contacting them. In doing so, you’ll be able to see which programs are available in your area. You’ll also be able to start the HUD application process while having a local contact to point you in the right direction.
Fill out Your HUD Application with an HA Representative
While you could tackle the HUD application process by yourself, it’s better to apply in person with the help of an HA representative. You’ll need an appointment to do so, but the wait is well worth it to ensure the application is completed correctly.
To make the appointment so you can apply for HUD housing in person, call your local HA office. Ask them what you should bring to the meeting. Several forms of documentation will be required, such as:
- Your driver’s license
- Birth certificates
- Tax returns
