These 6 Home Products Are Best Bought On Days Besides Black Friday

Missing Black Friday is a good thing, especially if you have one of these home-related items on your to-buy list.

Black Friday often promises many once-in-a-lifetime deals, but are they really that great? It depends on the product, but you can usually find deals year-round, especially with the explosion of online shopping and e-commerce.

One 2017 study found that a majority of products it tracked had lower prices during other times of the year. In other words, Black Friday isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be.

While you’ll have to track specific items you’d like to buy to see when the best deal is, some home products tend to follow pricing patterns. These patterns don’t coincide with Black Friday, so if you need to buy any of the following, do it on other days:

1. Outdoor furniture.

If you live where it’s freezing cold, you may have zero need for outdoor furniture right now. If you live in a tropical climate, however, you may feel like Black Friday is the perfect time to snag some.

Unfortunately, most outdoor furniture is in limited supply on Black Friday. The silver lining to this is that you can pick it up on the cheap when summer ends or right around Labor Day, so mark your calendar.

2. Bedding.

Black Friday bedding has a nice ring to it, but if you need something to keep you warm and your room decorated, it’s better to wait.

When’s the best time to buy bedding? When the new year begins, so you won’t have to wait too long if you were hoping for a Black Friday bedding bargain.

January sales can showcase bedding at very deep discounts, so hang tight.

3. Mattresses.

What do you put your bedding on? A mattress, so if you were hoping to kill two birds with one stone and upgrade your sleeping situation, hold on to your money for now.

As stated, January is one of the best months to buy bedding thanks to sales that could showcase discounts as deep as 50 percent or more.

What comes next? February, and that’s when mattresses tend to be their cheapest.

4. Snowblowers.

You may have tons of snow to shovel if you live up north. What better way to reduce that workload than by buying a Black Friday snowblower?

While the timing may seem perfect to upgrade your snow-related equipment, wait until February. That’s when they tend to go on sale, and you could still have some snow to blow, so you’ll be able to test it out.

5. Paint

Sometimes the best gifts come in the form of favors. What’s one of the biggest favors you can perform for a loved one or a friend? Housework, or in this case, paint their house.

It’s perfectly normal to offer some form of labor or favor as a holiday gift. But if you were planning to paint someone’s house (or yours) for the holidays, you may want to wait a couple of months.

What’s the best month to buy paint? Like some of the other items on this list, it’s February. So if your gift recipient can wait a bit to see a new coat of paint on their house, purchase your paint in the new year.

6. Air conditioners.

Buying an AC may be the last thing on your list if you’re in a chilly location. If it’s hot and humid year-round, however, the idea of a cheap Black Friday air conditioner may be tempting.

Don’t get too tempted, as the best time to buy an AC is near the end of August or start of September.
